The Eurochile Business Foundation is carrying out the “Reactivation of Regional Tourism with Circular Economy” programme, financed by the Regional Government of Coquimbo through the Innovation Fund for Competitiveness (FIC). Its purpose is to promote the reactivation and recovery of tourism in the region, in a sustainable way, through the promotion of the circular economy in MSMEs.
The program has a duration of 18 months and will benefit 200 MSMEs and companies that provide tourism services in the three provinces of the region. Among the lines of action of the project, it seeks to promote associativity and collaborative work between these MSMEs, transferring and applying European knowledge and tools on associativity and public-private linkage to develop circular business models.
In addition, the tourism sector will be trained and sensitized, including, trade associations and public entities, on issues of circular economy and its relationship with sustainability and adaptation to climate change, as a strategy for reactivation and promotion of tourism. In summary, this project represents a great opportunity for the sustainable development of tourism companies and to facilitate their transition towards a circular economy in the Coquimbo region.
The Innovation Fund for Competitiveness (FIC) is a programme that finances projects in various areas, including technology, energy, environment, culture, and tourism, with the aim of promoting the development of the country through innovation and entrepreneurship.
